On Page SEO: Structure of a Ideally Optimized Page

Here’s our take on the various insights :

  1. Using of URLs that are SEO- Friendly

It is known that Google gives more importance to the first three to five words in a URL. Therefore, always try coming up with short and simple URLs.

And do not forget to add the keyword that you want to target right in your URL.

For example:

Avoid ugly URLs: topseonow.com/p=123

Or long URLs: topseonow.com/8/6/16/cat=SEO/on-page-seo-is-so-amazing-omg-its-the-best

  1. Make your Title with your Keyword

The primary factor on your on-page is the Title tag that you use.

The thumb rule here would be, the more the keyword is nearer to the Title tag, the more it attracts the search engine traffic.

Start Title

Our take:

It doesn’t have to be that the target keyword must begin with the title tag.

If you are focusing on a particular keyword then putting it closer to the start of the title can have a positive effect.

  1. Supplement your Title with the apt Modifiers

Modifiers are for example “2017”, “review”, “best”, ‘Guide” etc. These can bring you good ranks online, for longer variations of the keyword that you want to target.

  1. H1 tagging of the title of your Blog Post

Most Content Management Systems for example WordPress, automatically tags your blog post title in H1. This H1 tag will be the “headline tag” of your post. For this type, you don’t have to do anything about the H1 tag and you can just proceed with the other steps.

But you might find that some themes might not allow this setting. For that matter, do check the code of your site in order to make sure you have got the H1 tagging for your post’s title.

Our take:

Sometimes you might find that on WordPress themes, the H1 tags may be used in order to increase the text size.

So do a proper round check if your post title is with H1 tags and also check the rest of the email opt-in area before assuming about the settings of your Content Management System.

You can cross check your site’s code to be sure that you have only one H1 tag each page.

And make sure that the H1 tag contains the keyword that you are targeting.

5.Make the most use of Multimedia

Content text is important but it is not the only thing that will work for your site. Broaden your horizon of multimedia.

Try using different images, videos or diagrams in order to decrease the bounce rate on your site. The images and videos are also responsible for increasing time on your site. And the bounce rate and the time on site are two critical factors for your users that can influence the site rankings.

Our take:

We use many graphics and pictorial depictions. This is due to the fact that these multimedia can better our contents.

It is also stated that multimedia can be an added benefit for SEO : These multimedia are found to boost the signs that Google pays a lot of attention to.

Multimedia are also found to increase the value of the contents on a site. This indicates that browsers might be more inclined towards linking to these type of contents.

  1. Subheadings should be wrapped in H2 tags

The next step is to add the keyword that you want to target, into your subheading at least for once. And H2 tag that sub-heading.

Our take:

Although it is not a hard and fast rule, but we found that H2 tagging of your target keyword can be effective. However, we might not find it affecting the making or breaking of your on-page SEO efforts in any way.

To make you understand better, here’s an example (target keyword=”SEO strategy”):

  1. Make your Keyword appear in the beginning of your content

One of the most important steps here would be using your Keyword within the first hundred words of your content.

Our Take:

Well in general, we all try to use our Keywords in the first paragraph itself. But we also see that some people don’t go for it. And instead, they go for long extending introductions for their articles putting off the Keyword for the later halves. This is never the right thing to do. You must always try to put your Keyword within at least the starting 100 words of your article. This will make Google understand the topic of your article.

  1. The Responsive Design factor

Mobile has become a very important tool for increasing a site’s online presence. And for your site to be available to everyone on an individual level and make it mobile-friendly, we would say that you must opt for Responsive Design. In 2015, it has been found that Google has penalized many mobile unfriendly sites. So, to have a better hold of your site on mobile phones, try Responsive Designs.

  1. The use of links that can be used as Outbound

This step is one of the easiest and surest SEO strategies to grab in more web traffic for your site.

Using of many outbound links on the pages that are related to your site is very much helpful for gathering web traffic. This helps Google to recognize your page’s topic easily and also assess your page as a content with good quality information.

Our Take:

Not outbound linking can be a mistake that many people usually make. In fact you should try using about 2-4 times of outbound links for every 1000 words on your page. This can be a beneficial step for your site.

But one thing that you must put into consideration is that, all the sites that you will be outbound linking to, should be genuine sites.

  1. Making the use of the Internal Links

This can bring profits. Therefore try to use two or three internal links in ever post.

Our Take:

You can see it online the importance of internal links and how it can be useful to your site.

Wikipedia is a great example of this. You can find many internal links there. You will see that it uses above 50 internal links in every page. But that is because it is the giant Wikipedia. But in general, for your site, you can go for 2-5 internal links to your earlier posts when you are publishing your new ones. This can be a safer and smarter way of optimizing your page.

  1. Increasing the speed of your Site

It has been stated that Google recognizes the loading speed of pages as an integral signal for SEO rankings. You can increase the loading speed of your site by many factors. Some of these would be using compressing images or using a Content Delivery Network.

It has been found that as majority of users don’t revisit a site if it takes more than four seconds to load. Therefore, you must make sure that you boost your site’s speed so that it loads within 4 seconds.

On GTMetrix.com you can check your site’s loading speed.

Speed report of Page loading

Our Take:

Although the above mentioned factors can improve your site’s loading speed, but according to us, premium hosting investment can amazingly improve your site’s speed.

It is found that $5/month can be pretty good hosts but they aren’t going to boost the site’s speed tremendously. From the point of view of SEO, the Return On Investment of premium hosting can result into a great investment for site speed boosting.

  1. Sprinkling of LSI Keywords

Latent Semantic Indexing are used by Google to weigh the relevancy as well as quality of a page. Therefore, try sprinkling them in all of your posts.

Our Take:

Usually, LSI keywords are not much needed for long contents. But then, if you really want to use LSI keywords you can go for the “Searches Related to…” section and search for searches related LSI keywords. Look out for the most suitable ones and use it 2-3 per post.

Our Take:

Image Optimization can even help in SEO of your page. It gives a clue about your page and that makes Google recognize it in its natural search. It is a way Google can comprehend your page type. For example, if your image contains alt text “blue widgets” or “green widgets”, Google will know that your page is related to widgets.

  1. The Use of Sharing options on Social Media

Social shares can generate great number of audiences for your content. So go for the social sharing button and use it on your site prominently.

It is known that using the sharing buttons prominently on sites can boost their social media presence tremendously.

Our Take:

Although social signals aren’t very important in terms of all the algorithms of Google, but shares on social sites can actually affect the site’s rankings.

15.The last step is the Posting of Longer Contents
